Highly recommend their electrician Josh - He came over addressed some of the original wiring in our house and did a fantastic job, all within an afternoon. Very professional and knowledgeable. Josh replaced old cloth wiring, replaced lighting, brought numerous junctions up to code, found issues that we were not aware of (like old dangerous splices in ceiling and bare wires), replaced receptacles, and added new fuse junctions. This is the not the first electrical company we have used, and I am glad we won't have to look any further with any other electrical needs in the future.read more

I wish I could give Chris and Cody 10 stars. These two were wonderful. They were so kind and respectful of my home. Tylor, an electrician with Black Diamond Electric, came to my family's rescue on a Sunday afternoon after a blip in power from the power company fried my home's surge protector and a circuit breaker for a good portion of my home. He quickly trouble shot the problems, replaced the fried parts and even upgraded a couple others. Couldn't have asked for more! Oh BTW, this was after another major electrical company with whom I've done business with for years told me to essentially "pound sand" for coming out on a Sunday afternoon. Our technician, Brian was professional and took plenty of time to do the job right. He complimented me for preventive maintenance things I have been doing. He inspected our furnace, air conditioner, and humidifier. He suggested things I could do to improve water flow through the humidifier. He cleaned the inside of the furnace, checked our filter and checked to make sure things were running well. The purpose for our service request was to troubleshoot an intermittent condition where the air conditioner failed to start properly. Unfortunately for me, the air conditioner had a failing part that needed to be replaced. He fixed the problem, showed me how to clean off the fins to keep air flow at its highest levels. I am very pleased with the service I received today.read more

These guys are real pros. We've hired Black Diamond on a few different occasions and could not be more pleased with their work. Travis, Josh and Anthony have been the electricians assigned to various projects in our home. They have all been polite, extremely knowledgeable and just pleasant overall. We had an unforeseeable issue with one of the jobs and I cannot stress enough how great they were at handling the problem. Service and price exceeded expectations. I expected this was a large US company gathering up local electrical jobs and using technicians of average quality at a higher price. Turns out this is a relatively small Utah company with great prices and excellent technicians. I scheduled a free estimate call, to install a smart dimmer light switch. When Kyle, the technician, arrived he just looked it over and offered to do the job for $6 less than a local electrician had quoted me. I expected to wait and have a follow up to do the work after the estimate, but Kyle went right to work and had the job done quickly. I did not know how to determine line and load, required to install this switch, which is why I called for help. Kyle carefully showed me an inexpensive tool that indicates line and load and how the tool worked and also gave me a tip on how to be fairly sure of the line, just by loking at the wiring in the light switch box. Service, cost and advice all exceeded expectations.read more

I had another local plumber come do some work for me about a year and a half before Black Diamond came to do anything for me - this other company overcharged for EVERYTHING. Like, MASSIVELY over charged. The last straw for me was when they sent two kids - nothing against young people, you've got to learn sometime, but these were two very young guys who clearly had minimal experience. These two kids tried to snake a drain - did a bad job of it, even I could see they didn't know how to use the equipment. They were at my house for about an hour, left for lunch, (leaving their equipment here,) and came back to try again after lunch - so this ate up about 4 hours of my day. In the end, nothing was solved and they tried to charge me $350. For (poorly) snaking a drain...So I called Black Diamond the next time I needed work on the very same drain. One guy came, he walked in quietly and professionally, immediately recognized what needed to be done, did the work, (mostly just snaking the drain, but he did it with obvious competence,) and then he charged me a very, very fair price - it was all over in like a half hour, it was professional, it was affordable. Even if I hadn't previously had a bad experience I'd've been impressed, but comparing Black Diamond to other folks out there I'm especially enthusiastic about recommending them. They're the best plumbers I've had do work at my house, ever.read more

I had a few different bids come in to get the best price on putting an outlet in my bathroom so I could plug in a bidet. Not only was Black Diamond the best price, but they were also the only ones that said they could do it without needing to do any drywall repairs afterwards! Major Plus. Chris was able to fish the wire through the wall without all the holes. Previous bids had included needing to make two 4 inch square holes in the wall to get it where I wanted it. Chris also was very respectful in always wearing shoe booties, coming on time, and cleaning up every speck of dust. I am pretty sure that that corner of my bathroom is cleaner now than it was before he came. My final note of praise is how flexible Black Diamond was. I was installing this bidet as a surprise Valentine's present and Chris made a special trip out to do the work on Valentine's Day while my husband was at work instead of doing the work right then when it obviously would have been way more convenient for him. I had Troy and Daniel over today, they arrived right on time. We're very customer focused, friendly, and product knowledgeable. They had to move and replace ductwork to install an air filtration system, and took extra care to ensure everything was fit right, sealed correctly, and aesthetically pleasing. Last Wednesday the drain in my basement next to my washing machine blocked up. My Husband called Black Diamond Plumbing and spoke to a young lady there (he had already called other plumbing companies and they wanted $200 just to come to the house) but they had a special for $49 to come and unclog a drain. Two polite and knowledgable employees called Spencer and Chris Jr. came out and determined that it would need some equipment to unclog the drain. We called Black Diamond as our AC had gone out and it was 88 degrees in the house. Black Diamond promptly set us up with an appointment for the next day and were so very gracious when we had to call and change the time. Chris (the tech) called to let us know he would be at the house in 30 minutes and arrived when he said he would. What a wealth of knowledge that man is! He fixed the AC, did a health check on the AC and furnace, and never once tried to sell us more than we needed. He was wonderful in answering questions and explaining the work he was doing. I just found Black Diamond from Google but I had called multiple other companies first. All of them were unavailable for several days. But Black Diamond was willing to do a weekend consultation at no extra charge. When they came, they seemed to immediately know what the problem was (capacitor in the condenser). Our central air unit abruptly stopped working at the beginning of the hot season, on one of the hottest days of the year. One of the big companies we've used for years canceled my 6-8pm appointment without even calling me. I got an email at 7:53pm. At that point, we hadn't had AC for two days and our hopes were hanging on that appointment. Our bedrooms were 93 degrees and everyone in our family went to grandparent's houses while I stayed with the dog and starting making phone calls. I called several companies with no luck. I had conversations with some call-center workers, got voice mail for some others, and was writing a text as a last gasp try before giving up for the night. I was looking for someone to clean and video a sewer lateral out to the sewer main. I called several companies before calling Black Diamond. One company was weeks out (not a great option when your sewer is backed up) another company quoted $900 just to show up before doing any work (this quote is so high I am convinced they did not understand what I was asking) and a third company who did not answer. We used there air quality testing service about a month ago and their service (customer and product) was outstanding. The gentleman who helped us that day was Eric Shafer, and if there were a gold standard in customer service/interaction, he would be the definition. We are a very clean family and maintain a clean household, meaning we don't wear shoes in the home, I told him this before he entered and he slipped his shoes right off with no argument or complaint. He then proceeded to to set up his equipment, explain what was going on, and give us our options in terms of fixing the issue. Bryan came out to help me problem solve an electrical issue that fried my clothes washer and dryer. I called early in the day and she arrived 2 hours later, SLIGHTLY AHEAD of the scheduled window. He walked me through what he was doing, explaining everything to me along the way. Although he had only planned time for a diagnostic visit, he replaced a subpanel in my basement and rewired an electrical outlet so that my washer and dryer were properly grounded and had a dedicated circuit. Wonderful customer service and follow through. Their prices are one of the best in the industry I have found. We were selling our home and had the furnace inspected per our contract. Our old unit was found to be defective and very expensive to fix. Arranged a seasonal furnace tune up along with fixing the problem with a leak from condensation drain line. The technician, Rob, discovered a missing rubber cap on the clean out box next to the furnace. That was causing the condensation water to drain from the clean out hole of the box attached to the furnace. After checking the system he verified there was no other issue, he returned to my home a couple days later with replacement caps. It was Friday night at the end of long work week for him. This was a significant purchase for us and we were naturally concerned about the outcome; but the professionalism and expertise we received from Jeremy, Brian and Bryce was second to none. It is easy to see how these guys (and Black Diamond) are successful. This is a creative bunch of guys who love what they do and are just generally good people that we enjoyed being around. We received a same-day quote for our project which outlined everything we discussed with Jeremy in person, in our property. It was line-itemed in a way that we could remove some items and do them later if desired, which helps us spread out the work over time. There was no pressure to buy anything. Our favorite part of the experience other than the fantastic new electrical installation, was the attitude and work ethic of the guys working around house – and the final walk-thru with Jeremy who outlined everything they installed, answering all of our questions. He left us with an open invitation to contact him anytime we needed help with anything they installed or questions we have in general, reminding us he's local and ready to help. Black Diamond may not be the least expensive option, they are certainly offering the highest value in my mind and price is not the only consideration when it comes to building my home. I had several plumbing problems that needed fixing before my open house. I was impressed with the technician that came out and did a thorough job inspecting what needed fixing. Chris came out to my house in a timely manner. On first inspection he suggested that the problem may be a burned out motor. But he opened up the unit and performed a close inspection. Upon that inspection he found that the problem was a burned out capacitor, an inexpensive part on hand. Great work - but very expensive!!! I have used Black Diamond quite a bit in the last two years as we bough a fixer upper. In this market, it is difficult to find good contractors and I know that when I call them I am always going to get top notch work. That said, I have another electrician that I use when I do not have urgent need that does the same quality work for half the price. I am thrilled with the work they did, but $400 for a switch and two plugs - in my opinion - is very pricey. I give them 5 stars for quality - but I would not describe them as an "exceptional value".read more

Having just bought a nearly 100 year old home we needed some estimates for work that we had to have done. I had Black Diamond do the re-piping of my water lines for me, and overall, it was a great experience. They were courteous, professional, friendly, and honest. Their pricing was significantly lower than all the other bids I got from the big plumbing companies; they provided a very detailed quote that outlined all the work they'd be doing. And in the end, they did fantastic work. It didn't go 100% smooth, but I've got an old house, and from my own experience, I know it can be tricky to work with. But even when they ran into some hiccups with the work, they honored the original quote, and they rectified the problem to my complete satisfaction. Black Diamond rocks. They offered expertise and timely services at every stage during our recent kitchen and bath remodel. We worked with Black Diamond electricians, plumbers and HVAC personnel. Office professionals courteously fielded questions and concerns. The electrical services seem to be the strongest division. Bryce and Bryan went the extra mile to help design the lighting and outlets in our kitchen and bath. The under cabinet LED lights on a dimmer create warm ambient light. The other zones on dimmers create optimal work light as well as soft light. They arrived when scheduled, always asked for clarification and cleaned up. The dry wall installer and framer noticed their work and mentioned they usually don't see such expertise on other remodels. On the final day Bryce and Bryan worked well into the evening to finish up. Jeremy Fenn was very profession, showed up on time so that means Black Diamond Electric already surpassed most businesses I have dealt with in Park City. During installation he communicated with me the whole way and made great suggestions that I agreed to.
